The goal of the program is to facilitate the evolution of the behavior modification profession by empowering those in the field with the knowledge and ethical foundation necessary to effectively, compassionately, and successfully improve the canine and human bond.
Core classroom subject matter will include:

▪ understanding and interpreting canine behavior
▪ the evolution and history of training in the US
▪ cultural and contemporary effects on the field
▪ mock behavior cases both basic and advanced
▪ identification, “diagnosis”, and treatment of
behavior problems
▪ puppies and puppy development
▪ counseling practices
▪ critical thinking
▪ handling
▪ ethics
▪ private and public teaching techniques
▪ business techniques

SSCS makes available to all graduates support services such as group discussions, membership to private graduate-only email discussion and guidance, one-on-one counseling, and grads are often invited to stay involved in the services at Seattle Dogworks and SSCS activities such as classes, private training, and business operations.
